PAPA PET KA SAWAAL: The play is about a father’s promise to his little child. A man has promised his child that he would get into ship shape to match his kid’s role model, a super hero. He tries his best and hardest to keep his word. But as reality is, it is next to impossible to overturn a lifestyle. He relies on all possible sources of information and advice to get fit. It turns into a hilarious roller coaster ride revealing many unrealized truths. A family discord needs to be addressed. The treadmill of repeated steps burns the bitter oil to enlighten the dark. He learns that shedding the extra kilos on the body is far easier than shedding the extra tons we carry on our mind.The running time of the performance is 60 minutes
SARA: It is a dramatic enactment of the life and times of Sara Shagufta, a poet, whose life was troubled with personal conflict, which found expression through her creative outpourings. Largely based on her letters to Amrita Pritam, this play takes us through her struggles and victories as it does try to fathom her innermost yearnings.
EKALAP: The monologue EKALAP is about anxieties of inhuman totalitarian tendencies in society where all people turn into rhinoceroses except one feckless man. This absurdist drama depicts the struggle of one man to maintain his identity and integrity alone in a world where all others have succumbed to the “beauty” of brute force and violence.
THE BALANCING ACT: “The Balancing Act” a play in gibberish. This play looks at violence and abuse as seen and experienced by young children in day to day life. The questions raised in this play seem to apply to many of the struggles of a whole generation, no matter the age. The play throws light upon children’s perspective of violence and their perception of it. It has been warmly and enthusiastically received by the young ones as well as adults. The running time of the performance is 60 minutes approximately and the language of the play is ‘Gibberish’
HASH ERNESTO TAG GUEVARA: Delhi based lecturer Rajashree along with her sister have arrived to a country side place, They stay in a government guest house. This country side place is also a guerrilla warzone. Rajashree is a researcher who’s doing her Phd and her coming to this place is for her Phd field research, Rajshree’s sister Sudha is a college going girl. Sudha somehow can not adjust to this place, She has got instructions from Rajahshree to not step out of the house. She gets bored, she tries to express her frustration while Rajashree constantly ignores her. They gradually get into the political discussion and then Rajashree reveals that she is an undercover journalist. She meets Guevara’s look alike in a lock up who starts stripping her synthetic socio political ideal stand.
THE LOVER: The play presents us with an archetypal situation in which an ultra-respectable couple acts out afternoon fantasies as a lover. The lover is both a comment on the staleness of bourgeois marriage and on the need to reconcile out instinctual appetites with our tamed, public, social selves. But what is fascinating is the skill with which Pinter leads us into a triangular jealousy-drama enacted by two people and shows the danger of splitting our sexual lives into watertight compartments. The essential joke is that the husband himself is the afternoon lover and that he and his wife indulge in role-playing, cat-and-mouse sex-games ending, as often as not, in coitus under the tea-table.
EK DIN BANK MEIN: adaptation of a story by famous Russian writer and Playwright Anton Chekov. A comic look at how a seemingly defenceless, seemingly weak woman is able to walk away with what she thinks she rightfully deserves – nothing less, nothing more. A fine day at the Bank goes completely awry for the Bank Manager when, as a customer friendly Manager, he agrees to look into the problems of a present/potential customer inspite of being slightly disabled by an attack of gout. As he listens to the litany of the woman’s troubles and the fact that she and her husband have been cheated out of a badly needed salary which does not have any connection with him or his Bank, he has no clue that he will end up making good her loss!
